Surveys
Post-session surveys give players a private space to reflect on each session and give GMs structured feedback. After a GM ends a session, every player who attended receives a survey to complete.
Early Access
Post-session surveys are currently available to Early Access users. The campaign must also have surveys enabled in its settings.
For players
Receiving a survey
When a session ends, you receive a survey notification. The pending survey appears:
- In the Pending Surveys callout on your dashboard
- In your notification inbox
Surveys expire after a configurable window set by your GM (48 hours by default). You receive a reminder notification before the survey expires.
Responding to a survey
- From the dashboard, click Respond next to the session name in the Pending Surveys callout. Alternatively, open the Sessions page, select the completed session, and find the survey section.
- Answer each prompt in the text fields provided. Prompts may include the default Stars & Wishes questions and any custom questions your GM has configured.
- Click Submit when you are done.
Surveys are anonymous by default. You can choose to reveal your identity to the GM after submitting.
Declining a survey
If you would rather not respond, click Decline instead of filling out the form. Declining records that you saw the survey and closes it without requiring any text responses. A declined survey does not expire.
Receiving GM feedback
After your GM reads your responses, they can send you a private reply. You will receive a notification when feedback arrives. Open the session and scroll to the survey to read it.
For GMs
Viewing survey responses
After a session ends, open the session detail panel from the Sessions page. The survey section lists each player's survey status:
- Pending: the player has not yet responded
- Completed: the player submitted a response
- Declined: the player declined to respond
- Expired: the survey window closed before the player responded
Surveys are submitted anonymously. Click a response row to read the answers. If a player has chosen to reveal their identity, their name is shown; otherwise the response is listed anonymously.
Sending feedback
After reading a player's responses, you can send them a private reply.
- Open the survey response.
- Type your message in the Feedback field.
- Click Send Feedback.
The player receives the feedback immediately.
Survey expiry
Surveys expire after the window configured in the campaign's settings (default 48 hours). Players receive a reminder notification before expiry. Once expired, the survey is closed and can no longer be responded to or declined.
The expiry window can be adjusted per campaign in Campaign Settings under the Survey Expiry field.
