Sessions
The Sessions page shows all sessions for your active campaign. From here, players can view session details and submit their RSVP; GMs can create new sessions and control the session lifecycle (start, end, cancel).
Navigate to the Sessions page by clicking Sessions in the sidebar, or by clicking a session card from the dashboard or campaign page.
Viewing session details
Clicking a session opens its detail panel showing:
- Name and description: the session title and any notes from the GM
- Date and time: displayed in your local timezone
- Duration: the planned length of the session
- Status: Scheduled, Active, Completed, or Cancelled
- RSVP summary: how many players have accepted, marked tentative, or declined
If the campaign has a VTT link configured, a Launch VTT button appears so you can open the game room directly.
RSVP
Players can respond to any scheduled session using the three RSVP buttons on the session card or detail panel:
- Checkmark (Accept): you plan to attend
- Question mark (Tentative): you might attend
- X (Decline): you cannot attend
Your current response is highlighted. You can change your RSVP at any time before the session starts. If you have not responded and the session is within 48 hours, the card is marked with an urgency indicator.
Tip
Keeping your RSVP current helps your GM plan the session and gives everyone visibility into attendance.
Creating a session (GM)
- Click + New Session in the Sessions section header, or use the + New Session button on the dashboard.
- Fill in the session details:
- Name: a title for the session
- Description: optional notes or agenda (supports Markdown)
- Date: the scheduled date
- Time: the start time (displayed and stored in your timezone)
- Duration: the planned length in hours and minutes
- Optionally set a recurring schedule (weekly or biweekly) to create a series of sessions at once.
- Click Save Session.
Once created, all campaign members receive a notification that a session has been scheduled.
Starting a session (GM)
When you are ready to begin, open the session detail panel and click Start Session. This marks the session as Active and:
- Triggers the GameMinder bot to create a session thread in your Discord server (if connected)
- Shows the "Live Now" banner on all members' dashboards
- Notifies members that the session has started
The session must be in Scheduled status to start. You cannot start a session that has already been completed or cancelled.
Ending a session (GM)
When the session is over, click End Session in the session detail panel. This marks the session as Completed and:
- Removes the "Live Now" banner from dashboards
- Triggers post-session surveys for all players who attended (if surveys are enabled for the campaign)
- Records the end time for duration tracking
Warning
Ending a session is not reversible. Post-session surveys are sent immediately after you click End Session.
Cancelling a session (GM)
To cancel a scheduled session, open the session detail panel and click Cancel Session. This marks the session as Cancelled and notifies all members. Cancelled sessions remain visible in the session history.
A session that is currently Active cannot be cancelled directly; end it first if needed.
Session history
Past sessions (completed and cancelled) appear below the upcoming sessions in the list. Click any past session to view its details, RSVP summary, and, if surveys are enabled, the survey response summary.
