Campaign page

The campaign page is the main management hub for a campaign. GMs use it to post announcements, manage members and invitations, create sessions, configure survey prompts, and adjust campaign settings. Players use it to read announcements, view their fellow members, respond to surveys, and set character goals.

Navigate to the campaign page by clicking Manage on the dashboard (GM), or by selecting Campaigns in the sidebar.

Campaigns list

The left panel shows all campaigns you belong to. Each card displays the campaign name, your role (GM or player), the game system if set, and the format (Online or In Person). Click a campaign card to open its detail view on the right.

GMs can click + New Campaign at the top of the list to create a new campaign.

Announcements

The Announcements section shows messages posted by the GM, displayed in reverse chronological order (newest first). The feed loads 25 announcements at a time and automatically loads more as you scroll down.

As a GM, a text area appears at the top of the section where you can type and post a new announcement. Announcements support Markdown formatting. After typing your message, click Post. Existing announcements can be edited or deleted using the Edit and Delete buttons on each entry.

As a player, you see the feed in read-only mode. Any unread announcement notifications are automatically cleared when you open the campaign page.

Members

The Members section lists everyone in the campaign with their display name, avatar, and role (GM, player, or spectator).

As a GM, you can open Invite Links to create and manage invitation links for new members. Each invite link can be configured with:

  • Role: player or spectator
  • Max Uses: maximum number of times the link can be used (leave blank for unlimited)
  • Expires: 24 hours, 7 days, 30 days, or never

Click + Generate Link to create a new invite, then use Copy to share it. Active invite links are listed with their remaining uses and expiry. Expired or fully-used links are collapsed under a summary but remain visible for reference. Click the X button next to an active link to revoke it.

Joining via invite link

When a player follows an invite link, they are taken to a join page where they can accept the invitation. They must have a GameMinder account to join.

As a GM, you can also expand any player row to view their character goals (see Goals).

Sessions

The Sessions section lists upcoming and past sessions for the campaign. Sessions are ordered with upcoming ones first, followed by completed and cancelled sessions.

As a GM, click + New Session to create a session. This opens the session creation form where you set the name, description, date, time, duration, and other details. See Sessions for the full workflow.

Click any session in the list to open its detail view.

Survey prompts (GM only)

Early Access

Post-session surveys are currently available to Early Access users.

The Survey Prompts section is an accordion that is collapsed by default. The header shows the current prompt count. Click the header to expand it.

Custom prompts are the questions players answer after a session ends. The section also shows whether the built-in Stars & Wishes prompts are enabled.

  • If no active custom prompts exist, Stars & Wishes are used as a fallback.
  • If custom prompts exist and Show Stars & Wishes alongside custom prompts is enabled in campaign settings, Stars & Wishes appear first followed by your custom prompts.
  • If custom prompts exist and that option is disabled, only your custom prompts are used.

To add a prompt:

  1. Click + Add Prompt.
  2. Type the question text in the text area.
  3. Click Add.

To reorder prompts, use the up (▲) and down (▼) arrow buttons on each row. To temporarily disable a prompt without deleting it, click Disable. Click Enable to reactivate it. Use Edit to change the text, and the X button to permanently delete a prompt.

Campaign stats (GM only)

The Stats section shows campaign-level metrics: total sessions, member count, attendance rate, average session duration, and survey completion data. Stats are updated periodically by the system.

Campaign settings (GM only)

The Settings section lets you update the core details of your campaign:

  • Campaign Name: the display name shown to all members
  • Description: optional Markdown-formatted text describing the campaign
  • Format: Online or In Person
  • System: the game system (e.g. D&D 5e, Pathfinder)
  • VTT URL: for online campaigns, a link to your virtual tabletop session room (Roll20, Foundry, etc.)
  • Enable post-session surveys: toggle surveys on or off for the campaign
  • Survey Expiry (hours): how long players have to respond to a survey (default 48 hours)
  • Show Stars & Wishes alongside custom prompts: controls whether the default Stars & Wishes prompts appear alongside any custom ones

Click Save Campaign to apply changes.

Discord server connection (GM only)

The Discord Server section lets you link the campaign to a Discord server so the GameMinder bot can post notifications and create session threads.

  1. Click Connect to Discord Server. You will be redirected to Discord to authorize GameMinder.
  2. After authorization, select the server to link from the list and click Next.
  3. Optionally configure:
  4. Announcement Channel: where session and survey notifications are posted
  5. Tabletop Channel: the main campaign text channel
  6. Voice Channel: used when creating Discord events for sessions
  7. Campaign Role: the Discord role associated with campaign members
  8. Send session reminders: whether the bot sends reminder messages before sessions
  9. Post GM attendance summary: whether the bot posts an RSVP summary for the GM
  10. Click Save.

To disconnect, click Unlink next to the linked server name.
