Character Goals
The Goals feature lets players set short-term, mid-term, and long-term goals for their character within a campaign. GMs can view all player goals to inform their session planning and story decisions.
Early Access
Character goals are currently available to Early Access users.
Setting your goals
Goals are per-campaign; you set separate goals for each campaign you are a player in.
- Navigate to the campaign page and open the campaign detail view.
- Find the Your Goals section in the detail panel.
- Click + Set Goals if you have no goals yet, or Edit to update existing ones.
- Fill in any combination of the three fields:
- Short-term: something your character wants to accomplish soon (e.g. survive the dungeon)
- Mid-term: a medium-horizon objective (e.g. find the artifact)
- Long-term: a larger arc or ambition (e.g. defeat the final boss)
- Each field supports Markdown formatting.
- Click Save Goals.
You do not need to fill in all three fields. Leave any field blank to omit it.
To clear all goals, click Clear Goals at the bottom of the edit form.
Viewing your goals
When you are not in edit mode, the Your Goals section displays your current goals in read-only form. Goals are shown in the same short / mid / long-term layout.
GMs viewing player goals
GMs can see all player goals from within the campaign's Members section.
- Open the campaign page and navigate to the Members section.
- Click on a player's row to expand it. The player's current goals are shown below their name and role.
- If the player has not set any goals, the expanded row says "No goals set."
Note
Spectators do not have a goals section. Only players can set and display goals.
