Reminders

GameMinder supports several types of reminders to keep GMs and players on top of upcoming sessions and campaign tasks. Some are automatic; others are created manually through the bot or the web app.

Campaign reminders

Campaign reminders let a GM schedule a message to be posted in the campaign's announcement channel at a specific date and time. Use them to remind the party about a session that is coming up, a preparation task, or anything else the group needs to know about.

GMs can create and manage campaign reminders from:

  • The web app: campaign page, reminders section
  • The Discord bot: /campaign reminders create

Campaign reminders are shown to all campaign members when they fire.

Personal reminders

Personal reminders let any user schedule a Discord DM to themselves after a chosen duration. For example, a player might set a 30-minute reminder to prepare their character notes before a session starts.

Personal reminders are created via the Discord bot only, using the /remind me command.

Session reminders

Session reminders are created automatically by GameMinder when a session is scheduled. The bot sends a notification to each campaign member via Discord 24 hours before the session is due to start.

Session reminders cannot be created or deleted manually; they are managed entirely by GameMinder based on the session schedule. If a session is rescheduled, the reminder updates automatically.

Survey expiry reminders

When a player has a pending post-session survey, GameMinder sends them a reminder DM via the bot before the survey expires. This gives players a nudge to respond before the window closes, without requiring the GM to chase anyone manually.

Survey expiry reminders are automatic. They are sent once, shortly before the expiry window closes.
